Is this director disqualified?

Check a person against Companies House’s register of disqualified directors. You’ll see whether they are disqualified now or were in the past, for how long, why, and in connection with which companies.

With the month and year of birth, namesakes born at other times are left out.

Checking a whole company?

Certaby’s company check reads Companies House and screens every director and owner against the UK, UN, EU and US sanctions lists: £2.99 a company, no subscription. The insolvency pre-appointment check (£12.99) also checks each of them against this register.

About disqualified directors

What does a disqualified director mean?
A court order, or an undertaking the person gave instead, bars them from being a director or taking part in running a company for a set time, up to 15 years. Acting as a director while disqualified is a criminal offence (Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986, section 13).
Why add a birth month and year?
Many people share a name. Companies House publishes the birth month and year of directors, so with them a namesake born at a different time is left out, and a match is much more likely to be the same person.
What if the disqualification has ended?
The person can act as a director again. It can still be a reason to ask questions when you take them on as a client or business partner.
Is this lookup free?
Yes, up to 10 lookups a day, with no sign-up. It reads Companies House’s register directly.
