Client details link · free to send
Let your client fill in their own details
Don’t have a buyer’s, tenant’s or client’s details yet? Send them one link. They type their details as they appear on their passport or on Companies House, and you run the checks on the transaction as usual. No retyping, and no account for your client.
How it works
- 1
Make a link on the let or sale
Open the transaction, press "Send your client a link to fill them in" under the people on it, and choose who it is for and whether it is a person or a company.
- 2
Send it however you like
Copy the link, or the short message written for you, and send it by email, text, WhatsApp or from your own software. Nobody needs an account.
- 3
Their details arrive on the transaction
When your client sends them, they appear with the other people on the transaction, ready to check. Or tick "Run the checks as soon as my client sends their details" and the checks run by themselves.
What your client sees
Your firm’s name at the top, why you are asking, and a short form. Nothing else to click: no menus, no prices, no sign-up. The page says the details go only to you, and links to our privacy policy.
- Works for 14 days, and only once
- You can cancel it before it is used
- Your client sees nothing already on the transaction
- Kept in the UK, with the rest of your records
Oakwood Lettings asks you to confirm your details
UK law asks firms like Oakwood Lettings to check who they are working with before they go ahead. It takes about two minutes.

Questions
- What does it cost?
- Making and sending links is free. You pay only for the checks you run on the details, as usual: a sanctions check on a person is 99p, and a let starts at £1.98.
- How long does a link last?
- 14 days, and it can be used once. You can cancel a link before your client uses it, and make a new one if it runs out.
- What does my client see?
- A plain page with your firm's name, a line on why the law asks you to check who you work with, and a short form. No sign-up, no Certaby menus or offers. They see nothing that is already on your transaction.
- How do I know when they have filled it in?
- The transaction shows "Details received" with the date, and whether the checks ran. There is no separate email, so look at the transaction.
- Does it check their ID?
- No. The link collects the details the sanctions and anti-money-laundering checks need. To check a person's ID document remotely, send a digital ID check from the same transaction.
- Do I need to connect it to my software?
- No. It is an ordinary web link, so it works anywhere you can paste one.
Try it on your next let or sale
Start a transaction, then send your client a link from it.
